Privacy Policy

Option does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

Effective October 4, 2026

The short version
  • Option runs entirely on your Mac. It has no network access, no analytics, no advertising and no account.
  • It asks for no permissions: no Accessibility, Screen Recording, Input Monitoring or anything else.
  • It never reads the contents of your windows or screen, and never keeps a history of the apps you use.
  • The App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.

Who we are

Option is a Mac app made by Mahtca Global (“we”). This policy covers the Option app and this website. Questions: option@mahtca.com.

Information Option collects

None. Option runs entirely on your Mac. It does not connect to the internet — the app has no network access at all — and has no analytics, crash reporting or advertising, and requires no account.

Your apps and windows

  • To show the switcher, Option lists the apps you have open and counts their windows on the current Space. The only window information it uses is position, size and which app owns the window, which macOS provides without any permission.
  • Option never reads window titles or the contents of your windows or screen.
  • The order of recently used apps exists only in memory while Option runs. It is never written to disk and disappears when Option quits.

Settings stored on your Mac

The only data Option saves are your preferences — such as your keyboard shortcut, pinned apps and appearance choices — and a count of how many times you’ve switched apps, used to decide when to ask for a review. It never records which apps. Everything is stored locally on your Mac by macOS.

Purchases

If you buy Option Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple through the Mac App Store. Option receives only Apple’s signed confirmation that you own it, and never sees your payment details or your Apple Account. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Permissions

Option asks for none. There is no permission prompt anywhere in the app.

Children

Option does not collect information from anyone, including children.

This website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. Like any website, its server may briefly keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver pages and keep them secure. The Mac App Store badge is loaded from Apple’s servers. If you dismiss the language suggestion, your browser remembers that choice locally.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
